Meet the Healdsburg Cooking School Staff

Our Healdsburg staff is a well rounded group of food and wine lovers who call Sonoma County home. They have each embraced the wine country lifestyle and bring a wealth of experience and local knowledge to our classes and events.
Janis Frey: Chef
A professionally trained chef with experience as a culinary instructor, caterer and private chef, Janis has successfully crossed over to the art of wood-fired cooking since working at Mugnaini. She comfortably brings proficiency and skill to the Healdsburg Culinary program and is a friendly, approachable resource for Mugnaini clients. When not working, Janis keeps her skills sharp by cooking and entertaining for her family of wine makers and food lovers.
Karla Lippincott: Wine Buyer
Karla was born into the food business, married into the food business and brings an enormous variety of skills to the Mugnaini cooking School. A good cook with a very gifted palate Karla networks with local wineries to bring the finest tastes of Sonoma County to pair with class menu items. In addition to working with Mugnaini, Karla and her husband Rob own their own Healdsburg based Cajun catering company Louisiana Legacy.
George Meilleur: Instructor
George has worked as a professional server with one of Healdsburg’s founding restaurants Bistro Ralph, for 15 years. So well known to the entire community, George is affectionately referred to as the Mayor! Since bringing his talent and personality to Mugnaini, George has evolved into an excellent instructor at the wood-fired ovens and has become a favorite with our clients. When not working, George plays golf as much as possible and dotes on his new grandchild.
Andrea Mugnaini: Founder
Andrea is a gifted instructor who loves to share her passion for wood fired cooking. Dedicated to preserving this old world tradition of cooking and entertaining; the Healdsburg program fulfills her vision to have a cooking school dedicated to the Art of Wood Fired Cooking.
