Mugnaini cooking schoolShe’s the woman behind some of the best pizzas in the Bay Area and beyond, but you’d never know it. Andrea Mugnaini’s name is not over the door or on the menu — but her burning presence is always there.”
Jennifer Graue, San Jose Mercury News

Jennifer Graue attended one of Andrea’s 3-Day Culinary Getaways in April and left with a new appreciation for wood fired pizza ovens and Andrea Mugnaini’s work. You can read her entire article here.

I asked Andrea about how she came into contact with Jennifer and what prompted this article.

“I first spoke with Jennifer when she called Mugnaini and told me about her visit to the newly opened Oak & Rye Pizza in Los Gatos. Jennifer recognized the oven from other Bay Area restaurants and spoke to owner Angelo Womack about his penny clad Mugnaini oven. It was Angelo who told her about Mugnaini and that we were just over the hill in Watsonville.

Intrigued about a local company supplying ovens, Jennifer wanted to learn more about the ovens and speak to actual oven owners so I invited her to our Healdsburg cooking school to see the ovens in action. She was very diligent and interviewed many of the students during the class.”

Experience is the best teacher. Mugnaini’s culinary program includes classes to suit everyone’s needs: Demonstration Classes are a great introduction to the potential of wood fired cooking and how to integrate a pizza oven into your home, Hands-on Classes work well for new oven owners and those looking to ensure a pizza oven is something they will enjoy, and for the ultimate wood fired cooking experience there is nothing that compares to a 3-Day Culinary Getaway in Wine Country.
