“The crust they make at this little pizza place deserves its own paragraph,” Ann Parker, Restaurant Reviewer.
We loved seeing this wonderful review of one of our commercial clients, Wood Fired Woodie, in the Santa Cruz Sentinel newspaper. Owners Chef Pat Flanagan and his wife, Mariah are long-time wood fired pizza aficionados. They developed their loved for thin crust pizza and their appreciation for Italian wood fired ovens while studying in Italy.
Pat and Mariah started their Wood Fired Woodie catering company in 2007 using a Mugnaini mobile oven and a custom-built trailer outfitted with fenders are from an old 1946 Ford woodie. They opened their modern pizzeria restaurant in Scotts Valley, California in 2012, this time choosing a 160 x 140 Mugnaini oven. Both Wood Fired Woodie venues serve a variety of signature wood fired pizzas with names that reflect the surfing roots of their Santa Cruz County location and tasty salads using local ingredients.
Congratulations to this wonderful couple who are achieving their goal of “bringing fire to the people” and making lots of wood fired pizza fans in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
