Mugnaini’s parade of mobile pizza ovens!

The Big Green Truck Pizza Company was the first privateer to place a Mugnaini wood fired pizza oven on a truck in 2004. Doug Coffin had a vision and searched for a partner to make it come to fruition. At Mugnaini we already had a proven design for a portable mobile wood fired pizza oven but it was simply fork lifted onto a truck and had nowhere near the flair of Doug’s Big Green Truck. Today with a fleet of 4, Doug has become a legend and still sets the standard for mobile service.

Now food historians will tell you Doug was not the first to have a rolling pizza oven. Years ago in Naples roving street vendors worked on city streets no doubt tossing pizzas in the air to gain attention and make a sale. The live interactive style of wood fired pizza lends itself perfectly to showmanship and may be the world’s first fast food. Now, thanks to these ambitious chefs, rolling pizza ovens are showing up all over North America.
